Mark Zuckerberg learned computer engineering from his father, Edward. At the tender age of 11, Mark came in contact with a software developer named David Newman, who taught him the basics of coding.

Mark created Facebook in 2004 for Harvard students alone. The social media platform could let you upload a display picture, share photos, interests, and connect with other people. It was such a blockbuster in the world of nerds that the whole of US and Canada universities were clamoring to log into the social media platform.




In the year 2007, Facebook had around 50 million users. Near about 1 million businesses signed up with Facebook to launch themselves through the Pages section of the social media platform.

In the year of 2009, the lion king had acquired nearly 300 million users. Thanks to the Facebook Chat feature that rocked the world of users in the year 2008.

In the year 2011, one of the pages of Facebook could manage to receive 1 trillion views. Something unbelievably unreal had happened in the world of social media.



The advent of messenger in the year 2011 for Android and iPhone brought another milestone in the universe of Facebook. It was an uprise and extended version of Facebook Chat. But easy accessibility and sharing locations gave it more than an ounce of popularity.



Facebook bought Instagram (photo-sharing application) in April 2009 for 1 billion dollars as it saw it become a growing competition (another lion) in the social media jungle. Facebook transformed Instagram into yet another gigantic lion in the social media jungle. In the year 2018, Instagram rose to 7th position in the race of social media platforms.



Facebook bought the instant messaging application WhatsApp in February 2014. Whichever application grew to attract public attention became the sole enemy in the eyes of Facebook. The instant messaging capability gave a tight competition to the Facebook Messenger application. And, so Facebook bought WhatsApp.



Back in the year 2009, teenagers chatted with each other through wall posts and inbox messages. Now in the year 2021, Facebook is not just wall posts. It is a collection of instant wall videos. Everything in the globe of Facebook saw the transformation from 2004 to 2021. Even the sequel of Like button came in 2016. These reactions bring happiness to many faces, even today.
